Geotel Hotel in Antofagasta, Chile is fantastic — spotless, very friendly staff, secure parking, affordable, and a very well-equipped room. It’s true the room isn’t very large, but it’s extremely functional. There are also some undeniable perks — the hotel is right by the beach, with tidal pools where we saw, among other things, starfish. We watched the sunset over the Pacific from our balcony, and in the morning, from that same balcony, we saw dolphins playing… all of this for a really great price. Thank you, Geotel :)

Great to return to what was a fine hotel when I was young, 70 years ago. Every nostalgic, but the old very courtly Chile is gone.

Bad smell at the room (body smell). Bathroom very clean. Breakfast a little poor. Good Location. Bad acoustic isolation at the windows.

The hotel was clean, most of the staff were effective at costumer service and courteous. In many situations they were problem solvers and went above and beyond. There was only one situation when our reservation for the sauna was double booked and we did end up not using it and there was a day in which the elevator was out of service and we have to go down the stairs to meet a friend to go around the city. The Expedia advertised that they have a diamond shuttle service to the airport and we ended up paying for it. Supposedly what is called a diamond service is a relationship with a taxi company. Overall, it was a nice experience and the sea view from the bedroom was worth it!
